WHAT TO EXPECT

Generation Hope meets every Wednesday at 6:30pm in the House.

Engagement

Each week, we engage in prayer, worship, and the word of God. We also engage with one another through small groups. This gives us a chance to grow deeper in our walks with Jesus and wrestle with what it means to follow Him.

Empowerment

Come expecting to be empowered to follow God’s call on your life, share the Gospel, and discover who you were created to be!

Connection

Each week is a chance to connect with other students and build relationships. We also have several events and hang-outs where you can meet new friends, laugh and have fun!

Meet Scott and Renee Slaven

Scott and Renee Slaven were called to be the Youth Directors at Hope Chapel in August of 2023. Hailing from Arvada Colorado, Scott and Renee set out to follow the Lord’s call to Phoenix in 2021. Scott works as a Substance Abuse Counselor and Clinical Manager at an Adolescent Residential Treatment Center in North Phoenix. Scott followed his calling to help people “in the trenches” and in the under-served populations, found himself immersed in the call to youth ministry and counseling.

Scott graduated from Grand Canyon University with a Master’s in Addiction Counseling and is currently enrolled in the Urban Ministry Master’s program at Grand Canyon University. He is also enrolled in licensure classes at the Arizona School of Ministry.

Scott and Renee have a passion for helping
people with substance use and mental health problems and have cultivated a program within the youth ministry at Hope Chapel that blends psychological and spiritual health. The Slaven’s mission statement comes from 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 stating, “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles
so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God”.

The Youth Group “Generation Hope” meets for service weekly on Wednesdays from 6:30-8:00PM, and is engaged in monthly events from camp and youth convention to outreaches, game nights, and more.
